Samson came to the Children’s Village in 2008 at the age of 10 after his parents both deceased from HIV. Samson quickly familiarised himself with his new home. At Upendo Child-ren’s Village, he successfully completed primary school – which in Kenya goes up to ninth grade – and secondary school.
As Samson was interested in tractors and plants, he decided to do a voca-tional training programme as a plant mechanic after finishing school. His field of activity includes the maintenance and repair of machines such as tractors, crawler tractors and excavators. As a rule, his field of work invol-ves mechanical machines that help in the processing of raw materials.
A plant mechanic works together with engineers and construction work-ers. At some point in the future, he would like to continue his professional qualifications and specialise further. Samson has now completed his Vocational Training – we are very proud of him for this and congratulate him. He has worked exceptionally hard!
Fortunately, he has older siblings who were too young to adopt him and and provide him with further education when their parents passed away, but now they are proudly on his side as a family. Until he has found a permanent job and can live independently, he will live with his sister and enjoy his great success – a completed professional qualification – surrounded by his family.
